1. Agreement
By downloading, creating an account for, purchasing or using Motorhome & Caravan Sat Nav, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
These terms supplement the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which governs the app licence unless a custom licence is shown in the App Store. Our Subscription Terms also apply to an auto-renewable subscription.
2. The service
The service helps users search for destinations, request routes based on entered vehicle information, preview journey time and traffic, and follow turn-by-turn guidance. Features and coverage depend on device capabilities, internet access, location permission and third-party map, traffic and routing data.
The app is a route-planning aid. It is not a substitute for road signs, legal restrictions, professional route assessment, driver judgement or instructions from police, highways authorities or site operators.
3. Driving and safety
- You remain responsible for the vehicle, route choice, legal compliance and safe driving.
- Always obey posted signs, temporary restrictions, weight and dimension limits, road closures, speed limits and local instructions.
- Do not enter a road or site that appears unsafe or unsuitable, even if the app suggests it.
- Speed, restriction, traffic and route information may be incomplete, delayed or inaccurate. Road signs and the law take priority.
- Speed-camera alerts may be missing, out of date, inactive or associated with another carriageway. They are an additional driving aid, not a guarantee that every enforcement location is shown.
- Use a lawful mounting position that does not obstruct your view or vehicle controls.
4. Vehicle information
You are responsible for entering and maintaining accurate vehicle type, height, width, length, gross weight, axle weight and towing information. Measurements should include permanent or carried equipment where relevant, such as roof accessories, mirrors, bike racks and trailers.
Routing providers may not know every restriction or temporary change. A route described as vehicle-aware or restriction-aware is not a guarantee that every section is suitable or legally accessible.
5. Your account
- Provide accurate registration information and keep it current.
- Verify that you control the email address used for registration by entering the short-lived code sent to that address.
- Use a strong, unique password and keep account credentials confidential.
- Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable care.
You can request account deletion as explained on our Delete Account page. Deletion is permanent and is separate from cancelling an Apple subscription.
6. Subscriptions and purchases
Full navigation services may require an auto-renewable monthly subscription purchased through Apple. The price, billing period and any introductory offer are shown before confirmation. Apple processes payment and manages renewal.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through Apple at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Removing the app or deleting your app account does not cancel renewal. Full details are in the Subscription Terms.
7. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the service unlawfully or in a way that endangers another person;
- attempt to bypass subscription, authentication, security or usage controls;
- interfere with, overload, scrape or probe the service or its providers;
- reverse engineer or copy the app except where law expressly permits;
- resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the service without written permission; or
- use routing or map data in breach of a third-party provider's terms.
8. Third-party services
The service relies on Apple services, HERE Technologies, OpenStreetMap data and a configured Overpass service for functions including maps, place search, routing, traffic, fixed-camera alerts, device location and purchases. Third-party services may change, become unavailable or have separate terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party content beyond the responsibility imposed on us by law.
Optional cloud navigation voice: In the forthcoming version 1.6.6 update, Google WaveNet is the only speech source on iOS and CarPlay. It stays off until you explicitly enable it on your iPhone before driving. If enabled, our backend sends short direction text to Google Cloud Text-to-Speech's EU endpoint to generate audio. Server audio cache copies expire within 7 days and protected app audio cache copies within 30 days; the app cache is cleared on sign-out or account deletion. You can mute guidance or turn WaveNet off again. Valid cached Google prompts can play offline while voice is enabled; uncached or unavailable audio leaves visual guidance without synthesized iPhone speech.
9. Changes and availability
We may maintain, update, add, remove or replace features to improve safety, security, legal compliance or service quality. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Where reasonably possible, we will give notice of a material change that significantly reduces a paid service.
You are responsible for compatible hardware, current operating software, mobile data and any network charges.
10. Intellectual property
The app, website, branding, software and original content are owned by or licensed to us. Map, traffic and routing data remain the property of their respective providers. Your use is limited to personal, non-transferable use under these terms and the applicable Apple licence.
11. Responsibility and liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your mandatory consumer rights.
Subject to that, we are not responsible for loss caused by inaccurate information you enter, disregarding road signs or safety guidance, third-party outages, loss of network coverage, or events outside our reasonable control. We are not responsible for business losses where you use a consumer service for commercial purposes.
If digital content is faulty, UK consumer law may give you rights to repair, replacement or a price remedy. Contact support so we can investigate.
12. Suspension and ending use
You may stop using the service at any time. You must separately cancel any Apple subscription to stop future renewal. We may suspend or end access where reasonably necessary for security, non-payment, serious or repeated breach, unlawful activity, or discontinuation of the service. Where appropriate, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for legal, security, technical or service reasons. The current version will remain at this URL. We will provide reasonable notice in the app or by email where a material change affects an active paid service or your rights.
14. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you retain any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings available under the law of your home country.
