Start with the UK Sites map

  1. Open the Sites tab in Motorhome & Caravan Sat Nav.
  2. Move the map to the area you want to visit or use the search box for a site name, town or postcode.
  3. Open Filters and select Allows dogs.
  4. Apply any other useful filters, then review the matching sites on the map or in the list.

The directory contains more than 6,000 UK campsites. Zooming into a region helps separate clusters and makes it easier to compare locations close to the places you plan to visit.

Check more than the dog-friendly label

“Allows dogs” is a useful starting point, but campsite policies can change and often contain important detail. Before booking, check the site’s current information or contact it directly to confirm:

  • How many dogs are allowed per pitch and whether a fee applies.
  • Whether particular areas, accommodation types or dates have restrictions.
  • Lead rules and whether an exercise area is provided.
  • Nearby footpaths, livestock and seasonal ground conditions.
  • The site’s preferred arrival route and check-in time.
Why verify? Directory information can become outdated. The campsite’s own current policy should be treated as the final word before you book or travel.

Plan the route to the chosen site

Select the campsite, confirm the location and ask the app to create a route using the correct motorhome, caravan or campervan profile. On the preview screen, check the dimensions shown, expected travel time, traffic and final approach.

Compare the last part of the route with any arrival directions supplied by the campsite. Owners often provide specific instructions to avoid a narrow lane or unsuitable entrance.

Make the journey comfortable for the dog

  • Use a suitable restraint or travel crate and never allow the dog to distract the driver.
  • Plan safe breaks and carry water, food, waste bags and any medication.
  • Never leave a dog in a vehicle when the temperature could become unsafe.
  • Keep identification and microchip details current.
  • Respect site rules, other guests, livestock and wildlife.

Example: compare two suitable sites

If two sites allow dogs, compare the details that matter for your stay: walking access, any extra charge, limits on the number of dogs and the arrival road. A site nearer your destination may still be less convenient if its approach is unsuitable for your vehicle.

Does a directory listing confirm availability?

No. Finding a site on the map does not reserve a pitch or confirm space for your dates. Use the site's booking link where available, or contact it directly. Confirm both the dog policy and whether the pitch suits your outfit.

Before travelling, check your vehicle dimensions and follow our caravan journey planning checklist.
